How it works
Use a topic when you want an overview, or a PDF when the notes should follow your own study material. Start with the chapter or idea you want to review, and choose the grade you want the notes written for.
The summary gives you a starting point before you work through the individual concepts. Read the sections in order or return to the part you need to study again. After saving, you can use the note as the starting material for a quiz or flashcards.

Add a topic or PDF
Type a topic, or attach a PDF of up to 25 MB. Choose a grade from Kindergarten through Grade 12 or Adult, then select Generate notes. A specific topic helps keep the notes focused on the material you want to study.

Review your notes
The preview starts with a summary, then titled concepts you can read one at a time. A topic note is an overview of what you typed. A PDF note follows the uploaded file, so compare it with the original before you study from it.

Save your notes
Sign in to keep the note in My Stuff, where you can reopen the summary and concepts when you return to the topic. From the saved note, choose Create Quiz or Create Flashcards when you want to practice recalling the material.

What files can I upload?
The create screen accepts PDFs plus audio (MP3, WAV, M4A) and video (MP4, MOV, WebM). Choose a grade before you generate.
Do I need a paid plan?
Open AI Notes and try a topic or PDF with a limited AI trial. No signup needed. Sign in to save. Audio and video need a paid plan.
What do the notes look like?
Notes are organized into titled sections and concepts you can reopen in My Stuff. From a saved note you can Create Quiz or Create Flashcards.
Are the notes always complete and correct?
No. AI can miss a detail or misread a slide. Read the note against the original file before you study from it.
